Got My First Bath

Got my first bath with my new family last night. I’m all clean and lovely again, but getting to this point wasn’t my best thing ever. On the Big Scary scale, it was a solid 7.5.

I have to say, it was a little weird seeing my brother and sister put on their swimming suits and get into our bathtub. It should have tipped me right off that something was a little hinky. Then again, they do weird stuff like that all the time. They were laughing and giggling, and I was pretty sure we were all about to have a cracking good time, but then Mom was setting ME down between them and “cracking good time” went *pfft!!* and I was in full-on B.S. mode! To be honest, it wasn’t _horrible_. They only used water, which was warm, and they were very gentle and reassuring, but I’d definitely trade some dog treats with anyone who’d like to take my place next time. I behaved as best I could, but I don’t think I was bred to be a water dog.

Speaking of water, it’s raining today. It rained some when I first moved here, too. It didn’t really bother me then, though. Everything Outside was new and there was so much to sniff! There still is, and I still LOOOOOVE Outside SOOO much, but I’m pretty sure I’m here for the long haul so I think I can maybe afford to be picky about when I go out. After the whole bath thing, I’d like to stay as far away from water as possible for a while. Besides, it’s a safety hazard for me to be out in the rain. Have you seen the size of those raindrops?! I could lose an eye or throw out my back if one hits me wrong. Major B.S.!! I tried to explain this to Mom but she’s not having it. As far as I’m concerned, though, the conversation’s _not_ over.

Seems like a good day for a nap.
